Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 7, 2026
SchoolStats Live ("we," "us," or "our") operates a real-time school sports scorekeeping platform that lets coaches, schools, and fans view live scores, player statistics, schedules, and school/team fundraising campaigns. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and protect it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. By using the page, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
- Account & school access: Your email address (used to email login codes and reports) and the school access codes you enter.
- School & team information: School name, town, state, mascot, colors, teams, sports, grade levels, schedules, and game results, provided by authorized coaches or administrators.
- Student-athlete data: Names, jersey numbers, positions, and game performance statistics (points, plays, etc.) submitted by authorized school staff.
- Donation information: Donor name (unless anonymous), donation amount, sponsor tier, and email address collected by the payment processor during checkout.
- Notification preferences: The email address you provide when subscribing to score or schedule alerts for a school or team.
- Usage & device data: Basic device, log, and usage information (such as pages viewed and approximate session activity) collected automatically when you use the page, through cookies and similar technologies described in Section 6.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To display live scores, schedules, statistics, and leaderboards for schools and teams.
- To issue and deliver login codes and to verify school registration requests before they are added.
- To process and record donations and to send automated thank-you messages to donors.
- To send score updates, season-end stat reports, and other notifications you or your school request.
- To operate, secure, debug, and improve the platform, and to comply with legal obligations.
We do not use personal information to build advertising profiles, and we do not use student-athlete data for any purpose other than displaying the sports information your school publishes.
3. Children's Privacy (COPPA)
The platform is a school-directed service: student-athlete data is submitted exclusively by authorized school staff (coaches or administrators who hold a school's access code), not by children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. Schools that publish student-athlete information are responsible for having the appropriate permissions from parents and guardians under the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and applicable state laws. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child's information appears on the platform and you would like it reviewed or removed, submit the form in Section 13 or contact your school administrator — we will promptly address verified requests.
4. Education Records (FERPA)
Student-athlete names, jersey numbers, and statistics published on the platform are typically considered "directory information" under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and are provided to us at the direction of each school. We act as a school-controlled data processor: we display this information only as the school instructs and only for the platform's purposes. Schools are responsible for complying with their FERPA obligations, including annual directory-information notification and honoring parent opt-outs. Parents who wish to inspect, correct, or remove their child's information may use the form in Section 13, and we will work with the school to honor the request.
5. Payments & Donations
Donations are processed by third-party payment providers — Base44 (Wix) Payments, Stripe, and PayPal. Payment details (card numbers, PayPal credentials, etc.) are handled entirely by those providers and are never stored on our servers. We retain the donation amount, sponsor tier, and the donor name/email provided at checkout so we can record the gift, display it on donor lists (unless you choose to donate anonymously), and send a thank-you. Payment providers handle refunds, disputes, and chargebacks under their own terms, and their privacy policies govern the payment information they collect.
6. Cookies, Analytics & Notifications
We use essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and remember your selected school — the page does not work reliably without them. We also use basic analytics to understand aggregate usage and improve the page; this data is not used to create advertising profiles. The page does not currently respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals because it does not engage in third-party behavioral tracking.
If you subscribe to score alerts, we use your email address only to send the notifications you requested. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any alert, or by contacting us — we will promptly remove you from the notification list.
7. Sharing & Third Parties
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Your login credentials, authentication tokens, the email address used to register, and the school or personal information you submit during registration are never shared with third parties. Authentication data is used only to keep you signed in to your own account and is never disclosed to advertisers or outside companies.
We share data only as strictly necessary to operate the platform: with the payment providers named above, our hosting and database provider (Base44), and email/analytics services used to deliver messages and understand usage. We never share student-athlete, school, or donor personal information with advertisers. We may disclose information when required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, property, and safety of our users.
8. Data Retention
We retain school, team, and statistical data for as long as the school is active on the platform. Student-athlete statistics may be retained after graduation per each school's settings (up to the configured retention period) so that career stats remain accessible. Donation records are retained for accounting, tax, and reporting purposes. When an account is deleted or a school leaves the platform, we remove associated personal data within a reasonable period, except records we must keep for legal, accounting, or dispute purposes.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted connections in transit and access controls that limit school management to authorized administrators and coaches. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we ever become aware of a security breach affecting your personal information, we will notify affected users and take reasonable steps to remediate it.
10. Your Privacy Rights & Account Deletion
Depending on your state of residence, U.S. privacy laws — including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the CPRA, and comparable comprehensive privacy laws in effect in states such as Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas, Oregon, and Montana, among others (with additional states adding similar laws each year) — may give you the right to:
- Know what personal information we hold about you and receive a copy of it;
- Request deletion or correction of your personal information;
- Opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell or share it as defined by those laws);
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information, where applicable;
- Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us (see Section 13). We will verify your request and respond within the timeframe required by applicable law (generally within 45 days). If you wish to delete your account, you can do it yourself from Settings, or include "Account Deletion Request" in your message and we will remove your account and associated personal data, subject to records we are required to retain (such as completed donation records for accounting). Parents and guardians may make these requests on behalf of their children.
11. International Users
The platform is primarily directed to users in the United States. If you access it from elsewhere, your information will still be handled as described in this policy, and by using the platform you consent to the transfer and processing of information in the United States.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be reflected on the page, and continued use of the platform after an update means you accept the revised policy.
13. Contact Us
For privacy questions, data requests, or account deletion requests, contact the school administrator who registered your school, or reach out through the support channel provided with your Base44 account. We will respond to verified requests within a reasonable timeframe.
